It's about a week since I was found at death's door (well just inside, after being stuffed through the letter box of an abandoned house).

Depite a dicky tummy all week, I've put on about a third of my body weight; I am eating and drinking well and I am sharing a room with Xena, another rescue kitten of the same age. What fun.

Xena goes to a new home next week, but I've got my claws crossed that I will be re-homed soon.

I hope you like my new picture. It's not a black and white photo; I am a very dark grey tabby on a white blanket (you should see my tail......great stripes...and I've got a big stripe on my back that looks like I've been painted!!).

I try not to be judgemental; but if a person has blue eyes, it is a statement of fact, not a judgement. If they are tall or German - again, an observation based on a specific truth. Agreed?

So, whoever put Frankie the Kitten into an envelope, stuffed him through the letterbox of an abandoned house and left him to die; has, by their own actions, confirmed themselves as an IDIOT!

Why do people do things like this to animals...and each other?

Frankie came to us all skin and bones. This is his first proper meal for about a week. He preferred to eat it out of the packet rather than a bowl. Who am I to argue. More news of Frankie's progress shortly.

I'm really pleased with this one, so I've decided not to ruin it with excessive photoshop or lightroom adjustments.
Just a tweek of colour and the tiniest of crops. West Wittering has never looked so Mediterranean.

Took some photos the other day of a Karate grading; or was it a room full of energetic people in their pyjamas. The testosterone in the room was immense, and that was just the women.

It was a good run out for the new camera as I shot the whole event without using a flash, testament to the D700's low light capabilities.

I have no idea if this guy is any good.

My limited German vocabulary suggests 'cheese factor' more than X-Factor, but he has used one of my photos as his website navigation button, so he can play as well or as badly as he likes. Thanks Guenther.

buddy whittington

With new camera in hand, I turned up at the door of a gig at the West End Centre in Aldershot featuring blue guitar legend, Buddy Whittington.

For the non-musical amongst you, Buddy is normally the guitarist with John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers, but on this occasion he was playing his own material with a band made up of musicians from the Peter Green Splinter group.

I pushed the new camera (Nikon D700) to the limit and got some great shots - and some amazingly poor ones.

Thanks to Buddy & the Band (and support act Weyward Chile) for allowing me to gate-crash their evening. I'll be looking out for any usage of the photos I took and I'll post them if I find any.

encyclopaedia britannica

I've got the bit between my teeth now. Blogging's fun.

Another nice surprise, an image entry in the Encyclopaedia Britannica. How cool is that?

I placed my camera exactly on the equator line near Quito, Ecuador. Although it's not the best picture I've ever taken, the concept was correct and I think that's what the publisher has gone for.

manitoba historical society

I found this on a website recently; it's one of my images on the front cover of the Manitoba Historical Society magazine. I'll give them a call and see if they'll send me a copy.

It's nice to find your work in print.

There are millions of publications in the world and editors aren't always obliged to give you credit; so when they do, it's encouraging.
